Gip - Character Rotation

This is Gip, an extremely lazy cartoon parrot. Gip is constantly sleep deprived, and usually has poor posture. Being slightly over weight, he tends to bargain for his food instead of searching for it. Although frequently stubborn, Gip can be sympathetic from time to time.

The process of animating on paper rather than digitally becomes difficult in the sense that the artist can not see how his/her creation will unfold in real time. Frames must be perfectly lined up, guidelines must be strict, and shapes must be mentally rendered from start to finish. Tedious as it may sound, this practice directly translates to digital creations, improving understandings of 3D space and slight of hand.

This animation is a 12 frame loop running at 6 fps.
